1. What kind of preparation is Avemar granulate with vitamin D?
Vitamin D Avemar granules are food intended for special medical purposes for cancer patients.
2. What is the active ingredient in vitamin D Avemar?
1 bag (14.5 g) of vitamin D Avemar contains 8.5 g of Avemar pulvis (powder) and 1600 IU (international units) of vitamin D. Avemar pulvis is a special, patent-protected extract produced by a pharmaceutical technology process, the only starting material of which is wheat germ.
3. What else does the product contain?
Water-soluble fiber of corn origin, natural orange aroma, table salt, standardized stevia extract sweetener.
4. When is it recommended to use Avemar with vitamin D?
Taking Avemar granules with vitamin D and stevia as a sweetener is recommended for the dietary care of people suffering from malignant neoplasms, to supplement their clinical oncology treatment (surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, etc.).
The product is made with a composition adapted to the condition of vitamin D deficiency that occurs during cancer and its clinical treatments.
Avemart is recommended to be used continuously, without interruption, before, during and after oncological treatments. Vitamin D Avemar granules can be taken at any stage of cancer. After surgery, taking Avemar can be started when the patient has been feeding orally (eating) without interruption for at least 4 days.
5. When can you start taking Avemar with vitamin D?
The use of Avemar should be started as soon as the cancer is diagnosed, it is not necessary to wait until the oncological treatments.
6. What do you need to know before taking it?
The product cannot be used as a sole source of nutrients! The use of Avemar does not replace oncology treatments and medicines!
7. How should Avemar vitamin D granules be used?
It is recommended to take Avemar continuously without interruption. After the completion of oncological treatments, it is recommended to continue using the product for several years until complete recovery. If you have interrupted or paused taking Avemar for some reason, you can start again later.
8. When should the product not be taken?
The preparation cannot be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of Avemar is also excluded for patients undergoing organ or tissue transplantation (organ transplantation).
The use of the preparation is also contraindicated in case of malabsorption syndrome (severe malabsorption), gluten sensitivity (celiac disease), or hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
9. Can diabetics take Avemar?
Yes, it can also be used by diabetics, subject to medical supervision, taking into account the carbohydrate content.
10. When should the use of Avemar be temporarily suspended?
During tests with contrast material injected into the alimentary canal (e.g. barium sulfate gastrointestinal x-ray diagnostic test), it is recommended to suspend the use of Avemar 2 days before the test, and then resume the day after the test.
In all cases, the instructions of the treating physician are the guiding principle. If examinations and interventions require the patient to arrive on an empty stomach, this must also be taken into account when using Avemar.
11. Can children take the product?
The product can be given from the age of 14.
12. What unwanted effects can the preparation cause?
The occurrence of side effects is extremely rare; in some cases, softer stools, nausea, and vomiting may occur.
13. Can Avemar be taken with other medicines and preparations?
Yes, it can be taken. A break of at least 2 hours must be kept between taking vitamin C, vitamin C-containing preparations and Avemar! It is advisable to use Avemar at a different time from medicines and medicinal products.
14. How to prepare vitamin D Avemar granules?
To prepare a single dose, fill a bag (14.5g) of vitamin D Avemar granules into a glass. If desired, pour 1-2 dl of water (non-carbonated mineral water), mix thoroughly, then drink the resulting liquid. The solution not consumed within half an hour must not be used later!
Soft drink, tea, kefir, yogurt, cocoa or milk can also be used to make it. According to experience, cool, cold liquid results in a more pleasant drinkable solution. It is important that the liquid used for preparation is not warm or hot! Preparation with a drink containing vitamin C (containing ascorbic acid or food additive E 300) is not recommended.
Avemar granules with vitamin D can also be administered through a feeding tube after preparation according to the instructions (ideally dissolved in a little water).
15. What is the recommended daily dose and when is it recommended to take it?
In case of a body weight of less than 90 kg, it is recommended to take a single dose of Avemar once a day, prepared according to the prescription, preferably approx. 1 hour.
Above 90 kg body weight, it is recommended to take one dose twice a day (morning and evening).
16. How should Avemar with vitamin D be stored and transported?
Protected from heat, stored in a dry, cool place. It is recommended to keep below 22°C, preferably in a refrigerator. It does not require deep cooling. Keep away from children! Make sure that the product is not exposed to significant heat during transport.
